Friends!! Thank you so much for coming back.  I am so sorry that I have been away.  Sometimes, life boggs me down a bit.  I've been thinking about WLS so much and am very happy to be back.  And while I have been away, I've been obsessing a bit.  About fabric...and all the lovely things I'd like to do with it. 

As a result of said obsessing, Peter Dunham has stolen my heart.  It isn't a healthy relationship as it is seriously one-sided.  But its a relationship! The Fig Leaf draperies below, in particular, have really been on my mind.  So not only was this room designed by him, the draperies and sofa cushions use fabrics that are also his design.

These dots are such dreamy reinterpretations of a classic.  I want to somehow incorporate them in everything.  Everywhere.  They are so crisp and fresh and could invigorate almost any tired old space.  Perfect for a tired old Monday.

air quote garden

We have a very sad looking little side "garden."  I'm using quotes because I am the only one who seems to consider the area a garden of any sort.  Honestly, I just see what it could be...something that seems to be very difficult for others to visualize.  It is still super hot here.  So I am fantasizing about and pining for the day the hot weather finally breaks. When it finally does; hopefully you will find me in a garden space like one of these.

a little pop

I'm still into it: pop of color.  Maybe because I'm not ready to give up my current obsession with hot pink.  Maybe.  We completely skip autumn around here, so we can get a lot more mileage out of some brights.  It could also be the rainy weather talking. Either way, these spaces are super cute.

succulents are awesome

My dear friends, succulents are awesome.  With the exception of the cactus, almost everything about succulents is wonderful.  They require very little water, very little attention, they propagate themselves very easily and they look beautiful.  Succulents are so loved that our little town even has its own succulent society.

They can be equally beautiful outdoors.

In the Shed

We need some outdoor storage space.  Desperately.  So...I am researching some shed ideas for our backyard.  Our home is a 1940's cottage and hopefully the shed will blend.  A shed isn't just a shed anymore.  And people have gotten super creative.  We just need plain old storage, but if I ever run away (20 ft away to be exact) one of these would be awesome!

Whole Heart Cottage

Two years ago, my Dad showed up at our house with all the materials needed to build a playhouse.  Oh how I would have loved a playhouse when I was little.  We had no idea he was planning to build one.  The girls were absolutely beside themselves with excitement. Now that it is summer, Peanut and Twink can spend their days transforming the Cottage from storefront to veterinary office...whatever their imaginations can conjure.  The girls' Whole Heart Cottage is pictured below (with pink shutters).

Always Aspirational

Day 3 of our assignment and I really wrestled with today's choice.  Should I be honest with you and admit that this (think Queen's Jubilee) is my deep down favorite blog? Or...should I choose my favorite real estate blog (great writing, beautiful properties)?  In the end, I chose a blog that I truly aspire to, Habitually Chic. 

The blog is beautifully written by Heather Clawson.  She's got a book coming out, her blog posts are always interesting and her subject matter is oh so, well, chic.  Seriously.  Sometimes it hurts my eyes. You could probably spend days looking at her blog.
