This is a Thing

Turquiose and navy are a thing.  I think they are a thing I love.  The colors look crisp, cute, and very modern in an accessible way.  I've attempted this color combo a little in our family room.  These photos make me want to really go for it.  We have a tiny house, and using basically the same colors throughout would really work for us.

Designed by one of my most favorite interior designers, Amber Lewis (next 2 photos).

modern mustard

That's right; you heard me.  Modern mustard.  Today's post is dedicated to my sister's dining room. Always on trend, she has painted her dining room a beautiful classic mustard.  It looks very elegant and totally suits their vintage 1904 St. Louis home.  She might add a turquoise chair for a pop of color.  The room below, featured in this month's House Beautiful, is the New York home of designers Bill Brockschmidt and Richard Dragisic.

The room below was featured in Adore Home Magazine.  You can view their magazine here.  This is a lovely way to add mustard in a youthful, modern way.

Covet Garden featured the room below. Love the mix of colors, print, furniture and art.

She has ordered a custom reclaimed red pine table (below left) and is pairing it with these chairs.

I can't wait to see how she pulls everything together.

Like gold but not ready to call the painter? Here are some ways to add a punch of color without making a big commitment. Photos via Pinterest

Blogs I Love

As I make my way here, I thought I would share some blogs that I truly love.  First up, Amber Interior Design.  Now, Amber doesn't know me from Adam.  I just found her blog and really love checking it regularly.  She frequently posts photos of her clients' homes & projects she is working on.   Based in California, Amber has great taste and a wonderful list of clients.  Here are some photos of just one of her awesome projects.  You can view her blog here.  Enjoy!
